“ Wilde's Original Manuscript for The Importance of Being Earnest"
The British Library has early draft manuscript for Wilde's play, and they have put it up online. It is an interesting mix of type written pages, and ink pen written dialogue. At the time of writing, Wilde still called the play Lady Lancing, and it still was a four act play. While it is interesting, the four act play is clearly inferior to the three act version, and we can all agree that the title Wilde settled on was much better!
